Town Garden

This town garden was designed to improve a previously unused part of the garden that belongs to a beautiful Georgian property in North Devon. The project was created with the aim of incorporating modern elements of garden design whilst keeping within the historic aesthetics of the original garden. A symmetrical path was created parallel to the existing original slate pathway that gives the impression of a formal garden whilst enhancing and extending the view down the garden and providing access to the gazebo. A modern style of slate patio on top of a traditional stone wall forms a slightly elevated seating area close to the house. Terraced raised beds have been created using Oak railway sleepers, increasing the space for home grown produce next to the greenhouse and potting shed; the terracing of these beds also accentuate the gentle slope of the garden, and invites the eye to the new planting beyond.
